Wilmington crews will continue to dig the city out this week. They will also collect garbage after delays of more than a week.
A winter storm that dumped about 8 inches of snow and ice on the city and the following deep freeze created a landscape that was difficult to manage for residents and crews alike. On the evening of Feb. 2, the city announced it will be using smaller vehicles to get a better plow of narrow city streets. Many of those streets have been passable, but not cleared completely. The city announced residents on these streets should expect snow piles that will be removed the following day.
