Man Arrested After Dog Shot in January Gunfire Case

WILMINGTON, DE — A month-long investigation into a January shooting that left a dog wounded has led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Wilmington man, police said, after detectives allegedly recovered firearms and narcotics during an encounter and subsequent search warrant.

Wilmington Police reported that members of the department’s Gun Intelligence Unit had been investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred January 25 in the 1100 block of Lombard Street. According to police, the gunfire resulted in a dog being shot.
