At 7:30 p.m., rescuers responded to the 100 block of North Warner Street after receiving a report of a man stranded on the ice 200 yards from the street in Woodbury Creek, the Woodbury Fire Department said. The man had reportedly been out on the ice for 20–30 minutes, if not longer, firefighters said.
Responders were able to make initial contact with the man and confirmed he was out of the water but required assistance due to frigid temperatures and a steep wooded incline, firefighters said.
With the assistance of multiple units, a 3:1 Z-Rig mechanical advantage system was established., firefighters said. The man was packaged in a Stokes basket and safely removed approximately 200 yards up a steep incline through wooded terrain, firefighters said…
