Convicted murderer of New Castle man goes to prison for life

A convicted murderer will spend the rest of his life in prison.

39-year-old Tramont Mitchell of Newark was recently sentenced to life – plus 50 years – for the May 2021 shooting death of 19-year-old Dmajah Tickles of New Castle, according to the Delaware Attorney General’s Office.

Tickles was gunned down in the 2,300-block of Carter Street in Wilmington. City Police arrested Mitchell nearly ten months after the shooting.

Mitchell was found guilty of First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, as well as convicted by a judge on a severed charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited…
