Cockroach Infestation Among Violations in County Inspections

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department cited multiple food establishments on February 19 for violations ranging from improper food handling to pest infestations, including live cockroaches observed at a Lionville restaurant.

Inspections covered facilities in Kennett Square, West Chester and Lionville. Health officials note inspections reflect conditions observed at the time of the visit.

Umami Asian Bistro Inc., 150 Eagleview Blvd., Lionville, was cited for numerous violations, including the presence of live and dead cockroaches throughout the kitchen. Inspectors reported roaches inside electrical outlets, in cold-holding units and on floors and walls. The facility was directed to thoroughly clean and continue working with a licensed pest control company.
