Two people rescued after crash along New Jersey highway sends vehicle into river

A quick-thinking NJDOT worker saved two people after a crash in Gloucester County, New Jersey, sent a vehicle into the river.

According to Gloucester County Emergency Management, just before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, a commercial utility truck collided with a passenger vehicle along Route 295 northbound in West Deptford and overturned off the highway into the Hessian Run Tributary.
