A truck driver is facing two citations after driving under the low-clearance bridge on North Chapel Street, getting the truck stuck and blocking the road for approximately two hours Monday afternoon.
The crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. as the box truck was heading from Cleveland Avenue toward Main Street. Just inches too tall to safely pass under the 12-foot CSX railroad bridge, the truck became lodged under the bridge.
After police shut down the road, a heavy-duty tow truck hooked up a chain to the truck and yanked it out from under the bridge, causing the metal top of the truck to be shaved off and crumple to the ground…
