Reports of gunshots Tuesday afternoon sent police swarming to Ramsey Road in the Beaver Valley area , leading to a lengthy response that resulted in a person’s death in an officer-involved shooting.
New Castle County Police said the initial report of shots fired came at 3:50 p.m. Responding officers heard more gunshots coming from the residence. Shots continued as members of the Crisis Management Group arrived.
A male came out of the residence after several hours. County Police said he encountered officers, and they shot him. The male died at the scene.
