- A 33-year-old Williamstown woman died Wednesday night while crossing the Black Horse Pike
A pedestrian was struck and killed while walking on the Black Horse Pike in Gloucester County on Wednesday night.
The Monroe Township Police Department said its officers were called to the busy highway near South Main Street at around 8:30 PM for a report of crash.
Pedestrian Struck on Black Horse Pike
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, being driven by a 25-year-old woman from Blackwood, was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike. In the same area, two pedestrians were attempting to cross the Pike in an area without a crosswalk.
Police said as the Jeep approached the area, its front driver side hit a 33-year-old Williamstown woman within the inside travel lane of the Pike.

The driver stopped and attempted to render aid. The pedestrian was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township, where she was pronounced dead at around 9:20.
