Popcorn Park Zoo Mourns Loss of Cherished Bear — LongtimePopcorn Park Refuge resident Maryann the Bear passed away.In announcing the bear’s passing, the shelter stated, “Maryann lived a very long and peaceful life at the Refuge and was deeply loved by staff, visitors, and supporters.”
After being saved from an Ohio breeder, Maryann arrived at Popcorn Park. According to reports, the breeder had too many animals living in subpar conditions. Before Fish & Wildlife stepped in, Maryann and her sisters would frequently flee the ranch and wander Ohio’s streets.
