Trucks have struck the low-clearance railroad bridge on North Chapel Street a whopping 60 times since 2005.
Officials are hoping that a set of clankers being installed this month bring an end to that, replicating the success the odd-looking devices had at the Casho Mill Road bridge.
Delaware Department of Transportation spokesman C.R. McLeod said clankers were installed on the north side this week, and another set will go up on the south side in the coming days. The agency will also install large signs that read “Stop now or KABOOM,” similar to those on Casho Mill Road…
