South Jersey social worker surrenders certificate from prison

A former Woodbury woman has surrendered her school social worker certificate while serving a prison term for the sexual abuse of a minor.

Chloe Berger, 34, was sentenced to a five-year term Feb. 20 after admitting guilt to endangering the welfare of a child, court papers say. The charge involved sexual conduct by a caretaker.

Berger reached a plea agreement after being charged initially with the aggravated sexual assault of two children in her care. The alleged assaults occurred between April 2020 and May 2022 when the victims were between 13 and 16 years old, according to a probable cause statement…
