Delaware primary care overhaul sparks debate among doctors, hospitals

Dr. David Donohue of Progressive Health of Delaware in Wilmington knows what it’s like to struggle financially in primary care.

Founded over 20 years ago, Progressive Health built a model focused on lifestyle medicine and preventing chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. The practice grew and developed a waiting list, but low insurance reimbursements – especially from Medicare – made it difficult to survive.
