NEWARK, Del. — A demolition crew is clearing the way for a new Wawa to open on Elkton Road, just over the state line in Delaware.
Workers spent the last week knocking down the existing buildings at the corner of Elkton Road and Otts Chapel Road, a site that once housed Leon’s Garden World and Ewing Towing.
In their place, Wawa will build a 5,585-square-foot convenience store and 16 gas pumps. The site will include 67 parking spaces, nearly double what is required by Newark city code…
