Over 70 participants repelled down the 17 story building at 300 Delaware Avenue in support of Special Olympics Delaware.
WILMINGTON — Special Olympics Delaware hosted its 15th annual Over the Edge event in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 14, raising close to $120,000 for the organization.
The Over the Edge event welcomed over 70 participants that took the walk down 300 Delaware Avenue. Each participant was required to raise at least $1,250 to repel down the side of the 17 story building and if a participant raised $1,750, they walked away with a personalized commemorative frame in addition to the memory of repelling over 200 feet down.
The repellers journey started at the check-in desk on the first floor of 300 Delaware Avenue. Once participants checked in, they were directed to the tenth floor where the Special Olympics Delaware team was stationed. There participants got a name tag, could see the livestream of the event on a projector set up in the room and got outfitted with the equipment necessary to repel down the building.
