WILMINGTON, Del. — As Delaware prepares to help lead the nation’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Hagley Museum and Library is inviting residents to kick off the commemoration during a Memorial Day weekend filled with history, innovation, family activities and patriotic reflection.

The holiday weekend marks the official launch of Hagley’s America 250 celebration, a multi-year effort that will continue through 2026 and showcase the people, inventions, industries and ideas that helped build the United States.

Situated on the original site of the du Pont gunpowder works along the Brandywine River, Hagley offers a uniquely Delaware perspective on America’s story.
