First Alert Forecast: 90s on hold for now, watching tropical moisture for later

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – This Sunday’s both Father’s Day and summer’s official start, and, appropriately, your First Alert Forecast offers a summery mix of temps and rain chances on the leadup: middle 80s and 20% Tuesday, upper 80s and 30% Wednesday, middle 90s and 0% Thursday, near 90 and 60% Juneteenth Friday, and seasonable heat with low rain odds for the weekend days.

Interestingly, Friday’s rain chance could receive a boost from tropical moisture. The system in question is a tropical disturbance called Invest 90-L. 90-L could briefly become a poorly organized tropical storm named Arthur as it climbs the Texas Gulf Coast through Wednesday; westerlies will carry some of its remnant moisture and energy over the Carolinas on Friday.
