A popular New Hanover County fishing destination could soon have a new neighbor.
Developers are working to bring a new industrial park to a 5.67-acre lot a few blocks away from Sutton Lake, according to site plans submitted to New Hanover in early June. The property’s zoning allows for heavy industrial uses including manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, warehousing and distribution.
The site is located just off U.S. 421, roughly four miles south of the two future Amazon facilities on the New Hanover-Pender county line. The corridor is a hotspot for industrial development, with many large-scale projects in the works including the Wilmington Trade Center.
About the plans
Site plans for Sutton Lake Industrial include two buildings, each measuring 11,500 square feet. Vehicle storage and parking will encompass 155,000 square feet, while another 65,000 square feet will be kept as landscaped area. The site will have 58 parking spaces…
