A community of over 1,100 new homes has been proposed near Rocky Point, with a major home builder in the Wilmington area attached to the project.
According to an application submitted to Pender County, Bill Clark Homes is looking to develop over 600 acres of active timberland in Riley’s Creek into 1,140 single-family homes — although the project is putting some emphasis on placing a portion of the land into permanent conservation.
The project isn’t the only one to be recently proposed in the Rocky Point area. As Wilmington’s growth continues to spill out into its more rural surrounding areas, development in the western side of Pender County is beginning to intensify…
