HIGHWAY 6: Leland projected to more than double in population by 2045, officials say

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – Leland is on track to surpass 74,000 residents by 2045, more than double its current population, according to town projections.

The forecast comes as the Brunswick County town has already seen its population nearly double since 2010. Officials say the town has exceeded its own growth benchmark of 1,700 new residents per year.
