First Alert Forecast: storm chances to gradually rebuild, one eye on the tropics

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – After a seasonably toasty and somewhat stormy Monday… Intense heat stays out of your First Alert Forecast for the rest of the work and school week, with daily high temps in the 80s to around 90 and nightly lows generally around 70. At the same time, popup storm chances regrow: 20% Tuesday, 30% Wednesday, and at least 50% Thursday and Friday.

In the tropics… Disturbance Invest 95-L will track nonthreateningly east of Bermuda through the weekend; progressively cooler water will limit its development window. Father south, a vigorous African tropical wave called Invest 96-L enjoys medium to high development odds as it tracks toward the Caribbean this weekend. No definable Carolina threats for now…
