Wilmington City Council to consider drainage project, lease, rezoning and venue funding

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A $1.1 million drainage project, a downtown lease, a proposed mixed-use development and nearly $200,000 for improvements at two city venues are among the items Wilmington City Council will consider Tuesday.

The council will consider awarding a $1.1 million construction contract for the Pirate Cove drainage project. When complete, the project will reduce flooding in the Pirate Cove neighborhood.
