NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Senior Resource Center’s SHIIP program offers free, unbiased help to older adults and others with Medicare who are reviewing their coverage.
Certified volunteer counselors can help residents compare 2027 Medicare options, including Part D prescription drug and Medicare Advantage plans. In-person appointments are available at the Senior Resource Center.
Phone assistance is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the North Carolina Department of Insurance SHIIP program at 855-408-1212. Plans can also be compared online. People who take medication more than once a day should check plan details for quantity limits…
