SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A driver and two passengers, all Monroe residents, were killed in a crash with a school bus Wednesday evening on Route 130.
The school bus driver suffered minor injuries and the two students on the bus were not injured, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
Police were called around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday to Route 130 and Stults Road on a report of a crash where arriving officers found a 2011 Toyota Camry had collided with a school bus, Ciccone said.
The Toyota was occupied by Ellen Brotman, 86, Alba Olivencia, 87, and Wilson Olivencia, 90, who all suffered serious injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor said.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the three people killed last night,” said South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka. “Our investigators will continue to work on the case to piece all the information together.”
The school bus driver was transported to Princeton Medical Center with minor injuries, and the two students on the bus, ages 15 and 17, were uninjured and picked up by their parents, Ciccone said. The students were on a late bus coming from South Brunswick High School, she added.
