The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division, in collaboration with the state employment agency, is organizing five career fairs in eastern North Carolina. The first fair will be held at the Brunswick County Career Center in Shallotte, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Subsequent fairs are scheduled at the Beaufort County Career Center in Washington on February 12, the NC Works Career Center in Wilmington on February 21, the NC Works Career Center in Morehead City on February 28, and the College of the Albemarle in Manteo on March 6. Applications for current and future positions of all skill levels will be accepted.
Job openings range from entry-level roles such as parking lot attendants and office staff, to more experienced positions like shipyard tradespeople and boat captains. Both temporary and permanent full-time positions are available. The division offers competitive salaries, full-time employment, health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid leave.
Job seekers should bring their resumes, references, and relevant documents to the fairs. Representatives from the division will be present to discuss the job openings and career progression.
