Will this North Carolina biscuit restaurant finally come to Brunswick County?

News broke last year that a popular North Carolina fast food breakfast restaurant was eyeing two Brunswick County towns for new locations, but it seems little movement has been made on either site.

The appearance that Biscuitville was looking to set up shop in Brunswick County was largely met with excitement from residents in Shallotte and Southport — the two municipalities the biscuit restaurant has its eyes on. But, that excitement also came from residents in Brunswick and New Hanover counties, as the chain’s current closest location is in Fayetteville.

Biscuitville slated for Shallotte, Southport

In the spring of 2023, the Shallotte Board of Aldermen approved a special-use permit for a restaurant with a drive-thru located at 4425 Main Street . The site was expected to become the county’s first Biscuitville location.

Then, in October 2023, it looked like a Biscuitville near Southport could beat the expected Shallotte location and claim the title of the first Biscuitville location in the county. A property in the River Run Shopping Center between Southport and Oak Island was purchased by a company with ties to Biscuitville.
