Governor Roy Cooper has made several appointments to state boards and commissions. Susan W. Rabon, a Southport resident and business owner, has been appointed as chair of the North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors. She has been a board member since 2021.
Stuart L. Mills, Executive Director of Partners for Children and Families, will chair the Financial Literacy Council. His past roles include leadership positions at the Moore County Literacy Council and the Care Group, Inc.
Maggie Brewer, Chief Deputy Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, has been appointed to chair the North Carolina Human Trafficking Commission. Joseph H. Prater IV, Director of Government Affairs for Charter Communications, will represent a VoIP provider on the North Carolina 911 Board.
Laura Elisabeth Morris, a caregiver with 17 years of experience, will join the North Carolina Brain Injury Advisory Council. Rudolph Victor Kuser, an Educator for the Southeast Americans with Disabilities Act Trainer Network, will join the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities.
