‘I had no idea’: Victim says as North Carolina woman accused of identity theft again

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Five North Carolina hospitals, an assumed identity, and a victim demanding answers.

“There are some days I wake up and I want to fight and some days I want to pretend it’s not happening,” said identity theft victim Jenine Gregory.

Gregory says she just can’t catch a break.

“Something I’ve been doing for 22 years I don’t want to do anymore,” said Gregory.

CBS 17 first reported about Gregory in October 2023 .

She performs ultrasounds on patients to help doctors diagnose medical conditions.

Gregory lives in New Jersey with no ties to North Carolina.

North Carolina woman accused of identity theft, stealing another woman’s medical credentials

For the last nine years, she has been the victim of identity theft.

In 2023 CBS 17 reported that Jenine Marie Ellis used Gregory’s medical credentials at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

According to the Halifax County Deputy Clerk, Ellis pleaded guilty in Halifax County to felony identity theft and received a 15-to-27-month sentence.
