Reaves Chapel prepares for final steps in renovations

NAVASSA, N.C. (WECT) – In 2019 the Coastal Land Trust partnered with the Cedar Hill West Bank Heritage Foundation to revive the historic Reaves Chapel in Navassa. Reaves Chapel was built over 150 years ago by the former enslaved Gullah Geechee people. Over the past few years, conservation groups have been working to keep the church doors open.
