Oak Island Police Department is conducting a death investigation after responding to an early morning call Sunday on SE 56th Street. According to Chief Charlie Morris, police received a 911 call some time after 8 a.m. Sunday morning regarding a rental home at 106 SE 56th St. Police arrived and found a deceased woman who lived at the residence with a male companion.
