Brunswick County Schools to operate on a delayed schedule Monday because of weather

With the potential for tropical storm conditions on Monday, Brunswick County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.

The school district posted on Facebook that it’s expecting localized flooding and limited visibility during the early morning hours.

As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the district said all after-school activities and athletic events will proceed as planned.

Meanwhile, New Hanover County school officials said they are monitoring weather conditions, but as of 7 p.m. Sunday said they expect to operate on a normal schedule.

As of 8 p.m. Sunday, Pender County Schools were going to operate on a regular schedule Monday.

Brunswick Community College has also announced a delayed opening for Monday. All campus locations will open at 9:30 a.m. Classes will take place remotely where possible. This opening delay includes the Dinah E. Gore Sports & Aquatics Complex and the Odell Williamson Auditorium.
