One severely injured in Wilmington stabbing Wednesday morning

One man was left severely injured Wednesday following a stabbing in Wilmington.

Around 4:20 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Clay Street in response to stabbing, according to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department. One male was located with severe lacerations and stab wounds.

Lt. Greg Willett, public information officer with the Wilmington Police Department, said the injuries were life threatening and that the victim was bleeding severely.

Officers located one suspect, 33-year-old Rashawn Graham, in the 700 block of Emory Street after their initial investigation, according to the release. Graham was found in possession of a bloody knife and taken into custody.

Graham has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and resist/delay/obstruct a public officer. As of Wednesday morning, Graham was being held in the New Hanover County jail under a $15,200 secured bond.
