The latest nominations for the StarNews Student of the Week are in, and now it’s time for you to pick the best of the best.
Voting is open until 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Participating high school principals, teachers and guidance counselors in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties nominated students they say have shown outstanding academic achievement and made a difference in their schools and communities.
We will announce a winner Friday, Oct. 11.

Quinn Bentley, Ashley High School
Principal Michael Perez nominated varsity football player Quinn Bentley who “led the Eagles to a 28-9 win over West Brunswick.” “Bentley returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, recovered a fumble and returned it 40 yards, had an interception, and a rushing touchdown,” Perez wrote. “Bentley, who is also a starter for the Ashley men’s basketball team and baseball team, has committed to N.C. State to play baseball.”
