The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners recently approved an updated vision for development of the west bank of the Cape Fear and Northeast Cape Fear rivers. The proposed amendment went before the board in early August for a public hearing. Many members of the public and environmental advocates came forward to express their concerns with proposed development as the area’s tidal flooding is the worst out of any area in New Hanover County, including Carolina Beach.
