Construction is progressing on a sprawling 20-acre mixed-use development in midtown Wilmington, with developers providing an updated project timeline.
Center Point, situated at the intersection of Eastwood and Military Cutoff roads, will include upscale apartments, retail space and more. A South Carolina-based development firm, The Beach Company, has partnered with Wilmington-based developer Swain & Associates on the expansive project.
“We think it’s a community that, when finished, is going to be great not just for our residents and our tenants, but something that will be enjoyed and exciting to the Wilmington community at large,” said Alan McMahon, senior development manager with The Beach Company. “That’s our goal is we want to create a great place, and a great place not just for our folks, but for everybody in Wilmington.”
What’s being built?
Plans for Center Point include 265 multi-family housing units, thousands of square feet of retail and restaurant space, office space, and a hotel.
