WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) -A toasty high pressure system will stay dominate over the Cape Fear for April’s first weekend, established records in the middle and upper 80s will be challenged. Highs for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will sizzle in near 80 along the Coast, middle 80s for the Wilmington Metro, and upper 80s for Inland zones. Summery feels for sure! Make sure to stay hydrated!
Apart from a stray passing shower or storm, expect mostly dry skies through Azalea Festival weekend. A cold front paints more solid rain signals for Monday and Monday night; some thunder and soaking amounts appear possible. Following the front: dig your jacket back out for daily highs in the brisk 60s and nightly lows in the nippy 40s and possibly frosty 30s.
