Raccoon Warning: Health experts warn how to combat rabid animals after rabies-infected raccoon attacks man

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – It was a quiet afternoon for one Brunswick County man when all of a sudden, a rabid raccoon attacked him.

“He had to defend himself with his hands,” David Howard, director of Brunswick County Health and Human Services, said. “He’s got a lot of cuts and bites on his hands. The raccoon…died in that encounter.”
