Flight school takes action against Wilmington International Airport, Modern Aviation

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A flight school based at Wilmington International Airport (ILM) has filed a complaint with the FAA, alleging ILM has violated federal law.

Cape Fear Coastal Aviation (CFCA), a flight school that has been in operation at ILM since 2023, issued a Part 13 complaint on Monday. CFCA has also filed a lawsuit against Modern Aviation, Inc. (Modern), where CFCA leases office and hanger space, according to CFCA’s attorney Cory Reiss.

The complaint states, “ILM has violated federal law by permitting Modern, a tenant occupying and subleasing ILM facilities, to subject CFCA to unlawful, discriminatory, and unfair ejectment actions on ILM’s property.”…
