WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The fire in Boiling Spring Lakes has been burning for nearly a week and remains at 15% containment.
According to the North Carolina Forest Service, the fire has burned 1,331 acres. On Tuesday, the N.C. Forest Service says they conducted drone flights to find hot spots and found more than anticipated in the northern section of the fire.
The forest service says the hot spots are the main concern right now. They want neighbors to know that even though smoke and flames are no longer as visible, the Boiling Spring Lakes Fire is still active and dangerous…
