KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is set to undergo a transformative $65 million renovation and expansion starting this fall, marking the first major upgrade to the facility in more than two decades.
Aquarium officials say the multi-year project will include the state’s largest shark habitat, a new interactive touch pool, a live coral reef habitat, an advanced education center with a direct connection to outdoor learning spaces, and a scenic rooftop sky deck.
