WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A company has been awarded a contract to dredge the Wilmington Harbor Inner Ocean Bar to renourish Oak Island beaches.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District, the $18.6 million contract was given to Norfolk Dredging Company.
USACE says the company will remove about 1.3 million cubic yards of “beach-compatible material” to place on the beaches near the Town of Caswell Beach and Town of Oak Island…
