WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington Downtown Inc. is teaming up with the City of Wilmington to restore a historic tile mosaic at Bijou Park.
According to Wilmington Downtown Inc., the mosaic is one of the last remaining pieces of the original Bijou Theater.
Wilmington Downtown Inc. says the restoration project includes:
- Removing the mosaic
- Repairing the concrete base
- Replacing original tiles and filling in missing sections with appropriate materials
Barricades have been placed in the area while the project takes place. Pedestrian access to the sidewalk and park remains open…
