WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Sunday and Monday will have fairly seasonable heat with daily high temperatures in the lower and middle 90s, heat index values cresting mainly in the lower 100s, and a low chance for popup storms. July’s first days will offer minor differences, including an uptick midweek storm odds thanks to frontal influences.
In the tropics: the National Hurricane Center will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Barry as it brings heavy rain to portions of eastern Mexico through Sunday night. The NHC has also identified a possible tropical storm development zone adjacent to Florida; such formation, if any, would be slow and there are yet no definable threats to the Carolinas.
