Man struck by lightning along Pender County coast on Sunday

PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A man is in the hospital after he was struck by lightning on Sunday, according to the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.

Officials said two people were idling on a boat along the Intracoastal Waterway in Pender County when lightning hit the man at around 1:30 p.m.

We’re told bystanders did CPR and were able to get the 53-year-old man to the Marsh Creek/Scotts Hill Marina, and he was taken to the hospital…
