The chances of a tropical or subtropical depression forming off the Southeast coast have increased, according to the National Hurricane Center’s briefing at 8 a.m. July 3.
An area of low pressure is forecast to develop near Florida at the Atlantic coast by Saturday, with a depression possibly forming over the weekend or early next week, the briefing stated.
