Beat The Heat: How to protect yourself and others from heat-related illnesses

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – As summer is in full swing, the North Carolina heat is not cooling down anytime soon and that’s why local officials urge people not to take heat-related illnesses lightly.

According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, nearly 5,000 people in the state sought emergency care related to heat-related illnesses.
