This feature is heading toward the warm 85+ degree waters of the Gulf where it may organize into a storm named Dexter later this week or this weekend. Regardless of such development, the Carolinas face no definable tropical weather threats at this time.

Here in the Cape Fear Region, your First Alert Forecast features seasonably steamy southerly breezes through midweek. While these onshore breezes may nurture a few passing showers and briefly heavy storms, most times and places ought to remain partly cloudy and dry. Expect daily high temperatures in the 80s to around 90 and nightly lows no lower than the 70s. Rip current risk: low to moderate.
