WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) -Protestors with a grassroots organization called the North Carolina Minority Citizens for Fiscal Transparency gathered outside of UNC Wilmington Chancellor Aswani Volety’s home Wednesday, claiming the university violated state law.
Organization chair Charles Jones said the protest took place outside of the Chancellor’s Mansion and not UNCW’s campus because Volety has refused to meet with them.
“The laws are set. The statutes are there. All they have to do is do like we do: follow it,“ Jones said. ”How do we get it to stop? How do we get minorities to stop being ignored?”…
