WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Board of Elections’ controversial early voting plan, which includes just one polling location for elections this fall, was, in part, the result of an unread email.
Elections Director Rae Hunter-Havens sent an email to Wilmington’s City Clerk on June 3 asking if the city wanted additional early voting sites; the message was relayed to city council members on June 9. But nobody ever responded.
