NC Labor Department finishes investigation into New Hanover County Fire Station 13

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The North Carolina Department of Labor has finished its investigation into a New Hanover County fire station engulfed in controversy for months.

The two-part review, which included separate health and safety portions, revealed 31 hazards within the facility, according to findings that the county shared with WECT. The county has since addressed those problems and won’t face any penalties from the state.

None of the hazards are tied to the water quality or mold issues that firefighters have expressed concern about.
